Sam Sittlington’s mess in Guyana caught up with him in the Maltese courts.

He was sent in Guyana by the British Government to help the authorities in the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU).

It was discovered that he had set up a company there in order to offer services to the private sector.

He was accused of potentially using his position and information from within the authorities to his advantage in the private sector.  Sittlington said that he would have offered the services onlh after not working any longer with government.  The criticism stood.

The British Government fired him.

The British High Commission in Guyana told the media that “In light of the information about Dr. Sam Sittlington’s private business interests, his contract in Guyana has been terminated with immediate effect.”

This is the person someone chose to play a key role in this very important hospitals inquiry.
