She emphasized Argentina’s commitment to taking concrete actions rather than relying on rhetoric, referencing London’s recent decision to transfer the Chagos archipelago to Mauritius.
The sovereignty dispute dates back to the 1982 Falklands War. While the islanders voted to remain a British overseas territory in 2013, the topic has resurfaced under Argentina’s Javier Milei, who expressed interest in pursuing diplomatic means for their return.
