Sam Sittlington looked visibly nervous coming into Court. He carried with him a bottle of water and tried continuously to sip from it. He had to be stopped by the Magistrate as it is forbidden to consume beverages in law courts.
He spoke in a very low voice and he had to be told a number of times to raise his voice.
He spoke in a thick accent in barely comprehensible English for anyone outside Northern Ireland, and again this was brought to his attention.
He took his time, asking questions to be repeated and overthinking, especially in situations where he changed his version. At one point, even the Magistrate remarked there could be consequences.
