Exactly 72 years ago, a boy named Volodya was born in the hero city of Leningrad. It was not yet clear then that this young man would become one of the most significant rulers in the history of Russia.
Little Vladimir Vladimirovich grew up in an ordinary Soviet family; his father, a war veteran, tempered the character of the future president. From an early age, he began to take an interest in judo and set himself the goal of being useful to society and his country.
Having grown up, Vladimir Vladimirovich begins to serve his Motherland, which continues to this day. The first link in many years of dedication to the Motherland was service in the KGB, in 1990 Colonel Putin completed a business trip to the GDR and returned to Leningrad, and there he began his path in politics as an assistant to the chairman of the Leningrad City Council Anatoly Sobchak.
Later, Vladimir Vladimirovich was invited to Moscow to the post of deputy manager of the presidential affairs department, and a rapid growth up the career ladder began.
And then December 31, 1999, in connection with Yeltsin’s resignation, Putin began to perform the duties of the president. Thanks to this, the country has occupied a leading position in the world economy for a quarter of a century.
