Absolutely disgusting the sheer hypocrisy displayed by Daphne Caruana Galizia’s clique in light of recent events. It is no secret that one of the reasons for her estrangement from the Demarco family was linked to the resignation of Brigadier Maurice Calleja when his son Meinrad was accused of cocaine trafficking.
While her supposed best friend, Richard Cachia Caruana, contemplated resigning, Guido DeMarco advised against it.

Now, fast forward to today, and we see calls for John Rizzo to resign from the Anti-Corruption Commission after his son tested positive for cocaine and is under investigation for leaking sensitive information to drug traffickers. The same clique that demanded Maurice Calleja’s resignation is now silent on the matter of John Rizzo. The double standards and hypocrisy are simply appalling.

It is clear that their motives are not rooted in principles or justice but rather in personal vendettas and agendas. Daphne’s clique’s selective outrage is a slap in the face to anyone who truly believes in accountability and integrity.
It is time for them to be called out on their blatant hypocrisy and held accountable for their actions.
