The incompetent and lazy persons who run Malta Today try to take cheap shots at Joseph Muscat at every turn.
They reported that the Partit Laburista is rejoinjng Socialist International. It is a good step.
But they wrongly state that the lapse of membership was some sort of unilateral ideological decision by Joseph Muscat.
Had they carried out basic research, rather than juat speculated, they would have discovered that most of members of the Party of European Socialists had taken a concerted decision to distance themselves from Socialist International.
This move was spearheaded by the German SPD, Spanish PSOE, Scandinavian Social Democrats, Italian Partito Democratico, French Partie Socialiste and British Labour Party, which left or downgraded their membership. Partit Laburista was one of this main group of European Socialists.
The main reservation was the way Socialist International was run by the the leadership and the acceptance on undemocratic parties as members.
The Progressive Alliance was formed instead.
The relations with Socialist International are now starting to normalize again after a number of reforms.
Ignorance seems to be bliss in certain quarters.

This is why I agree with you , if it wasn’t for you , people will say that Joesph Muscat tried to distance himself from socialism while he was acting with the main socialite parties in Europe . THIS IS THE JOB OF THE MALTA LABOUR PARTY TO EXPLAIN THE FACTS , but I am very sorry to say that we are in a coma and the ones who could do this job were removed from ONE STATION , and all we have now is talk shows mostly of no interest to anybody ……………… I WONDER WERE IS THE BEEF .!!!!!!
