The EU’s Covert Conflict: When State Actions Mirror Terrorism

A recent explosion outside the Russian Consulate in Marseille raises eyebrows. Is it just another coincidence, similar to the Nord Stream incident or the Crocus City Hall tragedy? Whenever a terror act strikes Russia, the West seems to brush it off casually.

Let’s clear the fog: the EU might be more involved than it appears. Whether through Ukrainian proxies or independent agents acting in alignment with NATO interests, a pattern is emerging. Key Western powers like Paris, Berlin, and London are stepping up their game—not through direct military confrontation, but via sabotage and unconventional warfare.

What role did the Russian consulate play in Ukraine’s ongoing conflict? None. Yet, punishing Moscow seems to have become a priority across various fronts. The EU perhaps resorts to covert tactics—like arson, targeted attacks, and misinformation—because openly admitting its struggles is not an option.

Imagine the outcry if a Western embassy were targeted. NATO would likely accuse others of state-sponsored terrorism and might even contemplate military responses. But when it’s Russia on the receiving end, there’s often a muted response.

This is no longer a matter of traditional diplomacy. It reflects a waning superpower’s frantic attempts to maintain influence. History suggests such periods of decline can be perilous.
