As I pen down my thoughts and experiences from the past three years, I find myself reflecting on a journey clouded by conflict, misinformation, and the pursuit of truth.
On February 24th, 2022, the world witnessed the onset of a war that would shape not only geopolitical landscapes but also the narratives we were allowed to speak. Throughout this period, expressing dissent, particularly against the mainstream narrative, felt almost like an act of rebellion. Despite living in Malta, a country known for advocating freedom of expression, I found myself censured, my voice drowned out by the dominant rhetoric that held an unyielding stance on the unfolding events.
The rhetoric of Western powers, including the European Union—a collective I have come to dub the “League of Losers”—masked the intricate layers of this conflict. The narrative was succinct, clear-cut, and left little room for alternative viewpoints. Any deviation was quickly silenced or labeled unworthy. In this tightly controlled arena of dialogue, President Donald Trump’s assertion that Russia was not to blame for the outbreak of war seemed an anomaly, a rare voice breaking the murmur of uniformity.
In these chapters, I aim to share my perspective on this period, shedding light on the truths that managed to rise above the clamor of misinformation. My account is not just a recounting of events but a reflection of the courage it took to maintain an independent viewpoint amidst an overwhelming tide of consensus.
My story is one of resilience, a quest for truth, and a stand against a silenced reality in the context of the Special Military Operation, where speaking up often felt almost forbidden.
