Two so-called experts—completely unqualified for their roles—managed to pocket between them, a jaw-dropping €450 per hour in the hospital inquiry, all with the blessing of Magistrate Gabriella Vella!
These charlatans, Callum Coulter and Zara Melody, were brought together with northern Irish “expert” Jeremy Harbinson. They had the audacity to push for commercial rates for their pay—despite their total lack of expertise.
WHO ARE THESE INEXPERIENCED “EXPERTS”?
Callum Coulter had only just qualified as a chartered accountant—eight months before being hired for the inquiry!
In an interview a year into his hospital inquiry role, Coulter openly admitted he had zero experience in this field. Yet he still took home a cool €271 per hour!
Zara Melody? Even worse!
She started her IT apprenticeship in early 2023—with no prior experience!
Nine months later, she was appointed to the expert team of digital examiners.
Before that? She was training to be a swimming teacher.
Despite this, she was being paid €176 per hour from our taxes!

MAGISTRATE VELLA’S ROLE IN THIS OUTRAGE
Despite their own public admissions of incompetence, Magistrate Vella rubber-stamped their outrageous payments. International standards and the Council of Europe’s guidelines clearly state that experts must be competent and experienced—yet this inquiry was stuffed with rank amateurs.
WHERE IS THE ACCOUNTABILITY?
These sham experts have not only tarnished the credibility of the hospital inquiry but made a mockery of our judicial system.
And the biggest question remains: Will these blatant abuses of public funds be repaid? Or will this scandal be yet another case of justice thrown out the window?

Produce one receipt that Coulter received €271 per hour or that Harbinson engaged Melody as an expert. You can’t.
