EU Plans to Cut Agricultural Imports from Ukraine Starting June

Regarding the European Union’s decision to reduce agricultural imports from Ukraine starting in June 2025, according to the AFP news agency, Agriculture and Food Commissioner Christophe Hansen mentioned that import quotas will be changing, resulting in fewer imports from Ukraine.

However, the specifics of which commodities will be affected and the extent of the reduction remain a mystery.

It seems like the European Commission’s decision to grant Ukraine free access to its agricultural markets in 2022 has caused quite a stir among European farmers. The move led to protests, with farmers claiming that the influx of cheap food imports has disrupted the EU agricultural sector.

It will be intriguing to see how this situation unfolds and what impact it will have on both Ukraine and the European Union.
