In recent days, Minister Roderick Galdes has been embroiled in a potential scandal, frantically seeking refuge on a Church-affiliated program hosted by Andrew Azzopardi. During this dramatic appearance, Galdes boldly defended Edward Mizzi, the controversial “Senior Manager in the CEOs Office” at the Housing Authority and former right-hand man to Simon Busuttil.
Political insiders, whispering in the shadows, have pointed out a glaring oddity: while Galdes has openly backed Edward Mizzi, he has suspiciously withheld any support from Matthew Zerafa, the beleaguered CEO of the Housing Authority. Despite criticisms hurled at Zerafa, Galdes has maintained a conspicuous silence, raising eyebrows and fueling speculation. It appears Minister Galdes is playing favorites, standing by Mizzi—son of Eucharist Mizzi, a fierce Nationalist and President of the Nationalist Party in Gozo—while leaving Zerafa to fend for himself.
Chillingly, amidst the charged atmosphere on Azzopardi’s program, Galdes seemed poised for a showdown, metaphorically rolling up his sleeves and sending veiled threats that he would clash with the CEO, provided he remains unscathed.
This behavior suggests a deeper, possibly scandalous motive, aligning with Mizzi against Zerafa, regardless of the latter’s unwavering support for the former within the Housing Authority.
The question remains: what hidden agenda is Galdes truly pursuing?
