Minister Roderick Galdes Dodges Accountability Amid Scandalous Allegations

Roderick Galdes is embroiled in a growing scandal as questions about his ministry’s transparency remain unanswered. On Wednesday, our blog reached out directly to Minister Galdes, imploring him to address our inquiries that were formally sent to Ms. Marvic Grech, the Head of Customer Care at the Ministry for Social and Affordable Housing.

Despite being a public official and a trusted associate of Galdes, Ms. Grech has yet to respond to our repeated attempts at communication. Not only is she part of Galdes’ Secretariat, but her salary is footed by Maltese taxpayers, who rightfully deserve accountability. Astonishingly, she has read our messages but continues to ignore them, an act suggesting indisputable negligence.

We demand that Minister Galdes assume responsibility. He faces two clear options: order his Head of Customer Care to reply promptly, or shoulder the political weight and address these matters publicly himself.

Yet, no action has been taken. Sources report that Minister Galdes is conveniently traveling, evidently ignoring the mounting demands for transparency—a deafening silence in response to critical voices speaking on behalf of concerned citizens eager for answers.

Minister Galdes’ inaction fuels the widespread perception of arrogance among his ministry’s ranks, as evidenced by the deluge of correspondence we receive daily.

And now, a question directly for him: Minister, is it true that when approached by your colleagues regarding social housing aid, you dismissively and coldly replied based on superficial judgments about individuals’ appearances, such as tattoos or social outings?

We eagerly await your immediate response.
