A few days ago, I wrote about how certain businesspeople are not at all pleased with the behavior of Dr. Marthese Portelli as CEO of the Chamber of Commerce.
Sources from this site told us that the Chamber of Commerce, which has always tried to maintain a certain level of seriousness and prestige, is being tainted by the actions of Marthese Portelli. Some have also told us that she often tries to undermine the Government, even attempting to persuade organizations to align themselves with her. These organizations are now beginning to notice her partisan approach and are even distancing themselves from her. In plain Maltese, one person told us, “tnejjket bina.”
Marthese Portelli even orchestrated a meeting, with the participation of the so-called “Chairman,” the Chairperson of the MCESD, Perit David Xuereb, to hold a meeting with the Opposition about the reform of magisterial inquiries, with the aim of turning other stakeholders against the Government. The meeting took place, but it turned into a joke because hardly anyone showed up.
As for the “Chairman,” Perit David Xuereb, I will soon be asking him about the Palace in Floriana.
Now, in these photos, you can see Bernard Grech’s security and driver during yesterday’s protest, standing in front of the One journalist. Surprisingly, this person is also Dr. Marthese Portelli’s partner.
I have a message for the Chamber of Commerce, for businesspeople, and for the other social partners.
To the Chamber of Commerce, I say: you deserve better—don’t let this bring you further into disrepute.
To the business community, I say: you deserve better representation—remember that you have always had the support of the Government.
To the other social partners, I will just say this: you have a mind of your own—don’t let Dr. Marthese Portelli incite you against the Government or use you for her own partisan agenda.
