Victory for Accountability: How Our Advocacy Led to Edward Mizzi’s Reassignment

A triumphant turn of events has unfolded on our blog as we’ve successfully advocated for a significant change regarding the position of Edward Mizzi. Our persistent efforts and unwavering dedication have led to a victorious outcome that aligns with our call for accountability and transparency within the Housing Authority.

For weeks, our blog spearheaded a campaign highlighting the controversial appointment of Edward Mizzi as the “Senior Manager in the CEO’s Office” at the Housing Authority. It was a position we found rather incongruous, given his past allegiances and actions.

From serving in the office of one who attempted to shift us towards opposition in 2017 to a prominent role under a Labour Government, Edward Mizzi’s career arc raised many eyebrows. His transition from being Simon Busuttil’s close associate to holding a strategic position within the Housing Authority was not without its critics. It placed critical files, which once attempted to assign blame for historical political controversies, directly into his purview under the current government.

However, our persistent engagement did not go in vain. We have received confirmation that effective Thursday, Edward Mizzi has been transferred out of his role in the office of Matthew Zerafa, CEO of the Housing Authority. This development marks a significant victory for our efforts and reinforces our commitment to ensuring key public roles are occupied by individuals who reflect the trust and integrity of the governing body.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Hon. Roderick Galdes for his responsiveness and for taking our constructive criticism into account. This transfer exemplifies the power of advocacy and the profound impact of holding authorities accountable.

In the spirit of bipartisanship and progress, we emphasize that while holding nationalist principles is respected, and crossing party lines is acceptable, certain pivotal positions must remain the purview of trusted governmental individuals.

This victory not only underscores the effectiveness of our advocacy but also strengthens our resolve to continue being a watchdog for fairness and transparency.

Your extended sincere gratitude to Rodrick Galdes and his COE Matthew Zerafa is not in my name. Because the political sin they were part of for me can never be forgiven. At such level such sins should be accounted for.

Il-princimes li obligat jghati rendikont ta ghamilu bhala pulitku u Rodrick Galdes u jekk innu il-kas min imponilu lil Edawrd Mizzi fuqu. Without wanting to sound like taking away any of what Neville Gafa single handedly managed to achieve, the victory Neville Gafa speaks of is no victory at all. Victory is not victory by the culprits getting out of what they did scot free by simply transfaring their previous piece of shit.
