During a recent press conference, Health Minister Jo Etienne Abela announced a substantial investment of two million euros to establish a cutting-edge specialized operating room at the Hospital.
This facility promises to revolutionize arterial interventions by integrating the most advanced technology, enhancing precision during operations, and minimizing patient risk. By the sound of it, this initiative seems commendable, with five hundred patients reportedly benefiting from personalized procedures in Vascular Surgery at Mater Dei Hospital.
However, the plot thickens with the involvement of Professor Kevin Cassar at this same press conference. Now, why is this noteworthy, you might ask?
Kevin Cassar, a name not unfamiliar in political circles, is married to the daughter of none other than former BFA Party Leader, Eddie Fenech Adami. His vocal criticism against everything Labour is well-documented, positioning him as a fierce exponent of the BFA Party with frequent allegations of corruption against the Labour Government.
One might raise an eyebrow at seeing Cassar rubbing shoulders with a Labour minister, given his history of vehement opposition. Is this not the same Kevin Cassar who lambasts the Government at every turn? It’s quite the spectacle—Cassar standing alongside a Government he so often brands as corrupt.

Did Cassar inform Richard Cachia Caruana of his decision to attend a press conference hosted by this very Government? Or was this a rogue decision, taken without the blessings of his political mentors?
