When originally summoned to testify in Court, disgraced Court Expert Jeremy Harbinson had stated that he could not leave the UK due to health reasons. At the time Magistrate Rachel Montebello had issued a court order demanding that forensic accountant Jeremy Harbinson provides official documentation substantiating his claims.

The disgraced Harbinson, who is the lead expert in the Hospitals case against former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, former Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, former Ministers Konrad Mizzi and Edward Scicluna, former PM Chief of Staff Keith Schembri and many others, has repeatedly refused to testify. He even submitted a further affidavit listing a long list of excuses as to why he cannot testify under any circumstances.
On Monday in Court, Lawyer Dr Vincent Galea, has raised legitimate concerns, accusing Harbinson of ignoring court orders and showing blatant disrespect for the judicial process by not providing the information requested and substantiating health reasons given originally for him not to testify. This concern on Harbinson’s disregard for the Court and the enforcement of this court order is being formalized in a note to the court to be considered by the Magistrate.
Sources close to the case have expressed frustration over Harbinson’s repeated evasions, noting that his actions are not only disrespectful but also detrimental to the pursuit of justice. Hopefully a clear message is sent that no individual, regardless of their status, is above the law.
