The latest MaltaToday survey is not just another data point—it is a resounding endorsement of the Labour Party’s leadership, direction, and the unity it continues to project. With a commanding 13.6-point lead over the Nationalist Party, Labour’s popularity has not only remained solid—it has surged. The numbers speak clearly: 38,802 more Maltese voters today would choose Labour over the PN. This is not coincidence. It is the result of strategic leadership, disciplined governance, and political maturity.

Robert Abela
At the forefront of this trust stands Prime Minister Robert Abela, who continues to enjoy exceptional confidence among the electorate. But this overwhelming show of support goes far beyond the Prime Minister alone. It reflects the strength and momentum of the new Labour administration, elected in September 2024, which has quickly distinguished itself with energy, innovation, and an unwavering commitment to progress.
Particular recognition must be given to Deputy Leaders Dr. Ian Borg, Alex Agius Saliba and CEO Leonid Mckay. Their fresh dynamism and political acumen have reinvigorated the party at every level—mobilising its base, advancing critical reforms, and solidifying Labour’s role as Malta’s only serious political force. Their inclusion in key leadership roles was not only wise—it has proven vital to Labour’s continued dominance.

Yet no discussion of Labour’s sustained strength can ignore the legacy of Dr. Joseph Muscat—the former Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader who transformed Labour into a modern, inclusive, and electorally formidable movement. Under his stewardship, Labour laid down the foundations of economic growth, social progress, and political strategy that the current administration continues to build upon. The solid ground Labour stands on today was poured and cemented during Muscat’s tenure.

Joseph Muscat
What is most reassuring for Labour supporters—and most terrifying for the PN—is the clear unity between current and former leadership. The working relationship between Robert Abela and Dr. Joseph Muscat is a testament to the party’s internal stability and mutual respect. This unity is not superficial—it is ideological, strategic, and rooted in a common vision for Malta.
Meanwhile, the Opposition flounders in confusion, devoid of narrative, divided in direction, and wholly disconnected from the realities of the people. While the PN spins its wheels, Labour governs. Labour leads. Labour delivers.

Bernard Grech
The message from the people is clear—and it’s not just about today. It’s about who they trust to lead them into tomorrow. Labour remains that trusted force, and it shows no sign of slowing down.
Labour governs with confidence, credibility, and continuity.
