According to MaltaToday’s June political survey released today, the Labour Party (PL) continues to enjoy dominant support across the country, widening its lead over the Nationalist Party (PN) to a staggering 13.6 percentage points. This equates to an advantage of 38,802 votes, up sharply from the 24,145-vote lead recorded in April.
The survey puts Labour’s support at 53.3%, while the PN trails at 39.7%, marking a significant shift in momentum in favour of the government.
This is not a minor swing. It is a political landslide in the making—a sign that the public remains firmly behind Prime Minister Robert Abela’s leadership, policies, and overall direction of governance. For the Opposition, the figures paint a grim picture: a persistent inability to inspire, connect, or offer a credible alternative to the electorate.
The data confirms what many within the political arena have long sensed. While Labour is seen as stable, effective, and responsive to national priorities, the PN under Bernard Grech remains fragmented and ineffective, failing to resonate even with its own traditional base.
What’s particularly noteworthy is the acceleration of support towards Labour in just two months. The increase in the vote gap by over 14,000 votes since April reflects growing trust in the government’s handling of the economy, social policy, and national priorities.
If elections were held tomorrow, the result would be nothing short of a decisive victory for the Labour Party—leaving the Opposition not only behind in numbers but void of narrative and relevance.
As the political temperature rises in the run-up to the next electoral cycle, one fact is beyond dispute: the Labour Party continues to command the confidence of the people—and the numbers prove it.
