Borg vs Delia: The Pact Is Broken — and So Is PN Unity

It was always a fragile alliance, held together by ambition and mutual distrust. But now, the pact between Alex Borg and Adrian Delia has shattered — and with it, any remaining illusion of unity within the Nationalist Party.

The two men had a clear understanding: if one of them contested the PN leadership race, the other would step aside. But that understanding was crushed by panic – and by raw, personal ambition.

On Tuesday, sparks flew behind closed doors. Borg made it clear he would not back down. Delia, sensing the threat, moved first. He preemptively announced his own bid, blindsiding Borg – and tearing the gentleman’s agreement to shreds.

It’s open war now. The old guard, the new wave, and the hangers-on have all picked sides. And every second this contest drags on, the PN bleeds more credibility, more votes, more relevance.

The million-dollar question remains: Who betrayed whom?

Was it Delia who double-crossed Borg by launching a surprise leadership campaign? Or was it Borg who quietly mobilised behind Delia’s back, setting up his own run while pretending to play nice?

Either way, this is no longer about strategy — it’s about survival. And make no mistake: this contest will shed blood.

Stay tuned. Because this is only the beginning.
