The Only Ones Who Dared to Call It Out: This Site Exposed the Edward Mizzi Scandal When Everyone Else Stayed Silent

While others looked the other way, this site stood alone in calling out the shameful appointment of Edward Mizzi,  the former ultra-partisan PN agitator turned Senior Manager at the Housing Authority.

We said it when no one else dared: putting a man like Edward Mizzi, who once fuelled some of the most aggressive political attacks against the Labour Government in charge of matters related to social housing allocations was not just irresponsible. It was scandalous.

Edward Mizzi

Now, as our reporting has revealed, Mizzi has emerged at the heart of the dirtiest power struggle the Nationalist Party has seen in years — accused by Adrian Delia’s camp of using his position to assist Alex Borg’s leadership bid through political favouritism.

And yet, where is the outrage? Where is the so-called independent media? Where are the usual “civil society” watchdogs that scream bloody murder over appointments when it suits their agenda?

Silent. Complicit. Conveniently selective.

No editorial from the Sunday papers. No press release from Repubblika. No questions asked by self-appointed moral crusaders who act tough when it’s Labour, but curl up when it’s one of their own or their former allies.

Let’s be very clear: Edward Mizzi should have never been appointed to a senior role within the Housing Authority. Not after his history of hyper-partisan attacks. Not while being politically active. And especially not when his name is now being linked to alleged favour trading inside a public institution.

But only this site had the courage to say it. Only this site called it what it is: a dangerous case of political infiltration.

If the allegations from Delia’s team are true, then Mizzi’s appointment is not just a scandal — it’s a symptom of a broken political ecosystem, where backroom deals and silent allegiances take precedence over public service and accountability.

And if they’re false, then let the accused speak. But don’t expect us to stay quiet — not now, not ever.
