The Nationalist Party has truly lost all sense of reality.
We are hearing that the PN will be carrying out a due diligence exercise on the candidates contesting for the position of party leader. On the surface, it sounds noble – ensuring that only those with integrity and credibility make it to the top.
But let’s pause for a moment. If a genuine due diligence exercise were carried out on the PN itself, it would fail miserably.
This is a party drowning in millions of euros in debt, with accounts four years in arrears, and teetering on the verge of bankruptcy. A party that has become a national embarrassment, unable to manage its own finances or operations, now claiming to be the moral judge of who is fit to lead.
The hypocrisy is staggering. Before turning its scrutiny onto the leadership candidates, the PN should do due diligence on itself. Because right now, it wouldn’t pass even the most basic financial or ethical test.
The PN really has no shame. It continues to preach accountability and standards while rotting from within.
Perhaps it’s time the party finally realised that due diligence begins at home.
