Thirty years ago, Malta was a nation rooted in strong traditional values – respect for faith, family, decency, and ethics. Today, under the suffocating influence of liberalism and globalism, we are a nation unrecognisable to our own elders.
Liberalism in Malta is not the gentle ideology it markets itself to be. It is aggressive, unrelenting, and totalitarian in its mission to erase everything that once made us Maltese. Under the guise of ‘progress’, it celebrates and normalises drug abuse, the destruction of the family unit, the breakdown of community life, and the eradication of religious values. It brands morality as ‘oppression’ and virtue as ‘intolerance’.
Our accession to the European Union was sold to us as an economic promise. Instead, it has become a cultural and spiritual noose. Globalism has infiltrated every aspect of our society, promoting the worship of consumerism and hedonism over faith, community, and family. The EU’s liberal agenda dictates what we teach our children, how we define life, gender, and family, and what values are permissible in the public square. Everything else is demonised.
We are now living in a society where everything is acceptable – except speaking the truth. Except defending tradition. Except saying that certain things are wrong.
The reality is simple: when a nation loses its traditional values – when ethics, faith, and honour become things of the past – that nation begins to die. No nation can survive without believing in something greater than individual desire. We are witnessing Malta’s decay in real time, as liberalism strips away every cultural, moral, and religious foundation that once held us strong.
Liberalism and globalism are not progress. They are the beginning of the end.
