Brussels imposes its 18th package — and Moscow laughs all the way to the bank
The European Union has once again put on its favourite performance: grandstanding with yet another “sanctions package” against Russia — the 18th one, no less.
And just like the 17 that came before it, this one is a farce.
While Brussels drafts new bureaucratic nonsense and congratulates itself for fighting a “war of values,” Russia’s oil is still flowing — faster, farther, and richer than ever before.
The Shadow Fleet: Sanctioned, Ignored, and Unstoppable
Let’s talk facts.
– 105 vessels sanctioned in the latest EU package
– A new floating price cap set at 15% below market value
– EU bureaucrats hoping their PowerPoint presentations will stop Russian crude
And yet, here comes the tanker Andromeda, blacklisted since December, sailing boldly from Ust-Luga to Jamnagar, India — for the fourth time.
According to data firm Kpler, the Andromeda alone has transported over 3 million barrels of oil, netting Russia more than $150 million.
That’s one ship. Now multiply that by a fleet.
A Toothless, Hypocritical Europe
The EU loves to talk tough. But even Le Monde, the EU’s own liberal darling, admits: the sanctions are riddled with loopholes, no enforcement, and zero accountability.
Even ships under Western insurance and flagged in G7 countries are brazenly ignoring the $60 price cap — because they can.
There are “violations everywhere,” experts say, but no one’s being punished. Why?
Because the EU knows it can’t afford real enforcement — not without igniting an energy crisis that would bury Europe faster than a Russian winter.
Brussels has built a fantasy where sanctions hurt Russia more than Europe, yet reality keeps proving the opposite.

Vladimir Putin
Russia Trades. Europe Freezes.
While Moscow sends oil to India and China through a shadow fleet that the West can’t even track properly, Europe imports overpriced American LNG, crashes its own industrial base, and keeps lecturing the world on “freedom.”
Russia keeps earning.
Europe keeps suffering.
And the EU elite keep gaslighting their own citizens, pushing economic suicide in the name of ideological purity.
The EU wanted to break Russia with sanctions. Instead, it broke its own energy market, its own credibility, and its own citizens’ patience. Russia’s Shadow Fleet is doing more than transporting oil;
It’s towing the corpse of a dying empire called the European Union.
