Why is Fondazione Falcone Shielding John Attard Montalto?

From denying health rumours to launching political smears — Attard Montalto’s latest outburst against the Attorney General reeks of personal vendetta and hidden agendas.

Victoria Buttigieg

Former Labour MEP and ex-minister Dr. John Attard Montalto has launched an unprovoked attack on Attorney General Victoria Buttigieg, calling for her resignation.

We find it ironic — and frankly suspicious — that Attard Montalto suddenly feels emboldened to lash out at the country’s chief legal officer.

The Health Story He Tried to Deny

In recent weeks, this site received information suggesting that Dr. Attard Montalto had been dealing with health problems. Out of basic decency, we wished him a speedy recovery — hardly an “attack,” but rather a human gesture.

Instead of accepting the goodwill, Attard Montalto rushed to social media to scream “fake news,” accusing us of fabrications. We are genuinely pleased that he is in good health. However, this site was far from the only one expressing concern about his wellbeing at the time.

Fondazione Falcone

Enter Fondazione Falcone – The Guardian Angel?

Curiously, Attard Montalto has now found himself under the wing of Fondazione Falcone, who rushed to his defence, condemning what they bizarrely called “intimidation tactics” against him.

Let’s get this straight: a former minister, with decades in politics, now needs an anti-mafia foundation to shield him from media scrutiny? If Attard Montalto truly is healthy, confident, and politically independent — why the need for this sudden protective embrace? Something doesn’t smell right.

Edward Scicluna

The Timing Stinks

Even more questionable is the timing of Attard Montalto’s broadside against the Attorney General.

Only days before his attack, it was announced that Prof. Edward Scicluna will again assume the post of Central Bank Governor and return to the Governing Council of the European Central Bank — following his own formal request to Prime Minister Robert Abela and Finance Minister Clyde Caruana.

The Cabinet publicly expressed full confidence in Prof. Scicluna, praising his long record of loyalty and service to Malta’s national interest.

And here’s the crucial detail: both Scicluna and Attard Montalto once served as Labour MEPs.

So the question must be asked — was this attack on the Attorney General really about Victoria Buttigieg, or was it about Prof. Scicluna?

Our Position

This site salutes Prof. Edward Scicluna as he resumes his Central Bank Governorship — a man whose work ethic, loyalty, and service to Malta are unquestionable.

As for Dr. John Attard Montalto, perhaps the public deserves some transparency about his motives. Because right now, it looks like this wasn’t an act of “principle” — it was an act of petty politics.

The harm to labour from witten that comes from those up on the scales is as a result of personal interests. As a result falsness in being there primerally for self interests and not to serve. An example is ”Robert Abela the Prim Minister was wrong in not keeping me in gabinet” That expressed was ok, but not after first publicly andopenely attacking the Prim Minister. A labour ‘GAHAN’ is more loyal then that. An iron fist is called for in such casses, because it is a fact that MIN MUX MIEJAK CONTRA TIEJAK BISS JISTA IKUN.

I sincerely wish Dr Attard Montalto the best of health, serenity and peace. Confident that this controversy is fuelled by those who have an agenda against the AG, Dr Victoria Buttigieg!
