Last Saturday’s vigil for Daphne Caruana Galizia was yet another circus by Repubblika and its president Prof. Vickie Ann Cremona. Same old script. Same tired clichés. Corruption this, corruption that. But when it comes to corruption in their own camp? Suddenly, silence.
Take the case of Francine Farrugia, the Nationalist councillor from Siġġiewi. She’s in court accused of blowing millions from MCAST on property, cars and an outrageous €113,000 spree at Harrods. A scandal so big it shook Malta. Did Repubblika say a word? Did Cremona condemn? Not a chance. Farrugia is “one of them.” A Defnista. Off‑limits.
And let’s not forget their golden boy, Robert Aquilina. Not long ago he was dragged to court, accused of domestic violence and illegally locking up his wife. You’d expect outrage, or at least sympathy for the victim. Instead—total silence. Repubblika, the self‑styled moral watchdog, went missing.
This isn’t an NGO. It’s a clique. A dozen people meeting every month at the Great Siege Monument to chant against Labour while looking the other way when their allies face fraud, money laundering, or abuse.

Vicki Ann Cremona
Prof. Cremona preaches morals in public, but her silence when it matters most screams louder than all her speeches. Repubblika has no spine, no consistency, no credibility. Just one agenda: attack Labour, protect their own.
And that’s the real corruption.
