Roberta Metsola will go down in history among the Nationalists as the one who threw her own party into the trash can at the very moment it most needed leadership. But beyond the local betrayal, Metsola has earned herself an even darker reputation internationally: the Empress of Battles.
For three years she has blindly supported Zelensky’s Nazi regime, pouring fuel onto a conflict that could never be won militarily. Rather than promoting peace, she has been one of the loudest cheerleaders of war in Ukraine. And as if that weren’t enough, Metsola has now taken her destructive agenda further by defending Netanyahu’s Zionist regime. When asked just hours ago by a journalist whether sanctions would be imposed on Israel for its crimes, Metsola conveniently failed to hear the question. Another shameful episode in her long list of evasions.
Metsola’s Legacy: Evading, Evictions, Escaping
Roberta Metsola will remain remembered for:
• Evading questions.
• Evictions.
• Always escaping from responsibility.
It is no wonder her hero was Daphne Caruana Galizia – another figure who mastered the art of escaping reality. One incident that comes to mind is when Daphne injured her husband by striking him with a cup. Despite repeated attempts by the Mosta Police to take her statement, she managed to escape accountability. Metsola, like her idol, has turned running away from responsibility into a political art form.
European Parliament in Tatters
And yet this is the woman leading the European Parliament – an institution where Members of Parliament openly abuse drugs. The standards have sunk so low under her watch that even a drug addict like David Casa sits comfortably beside her. Metsola cannot deny this reality: Casa’s record speaks for itself, yet she has done nothing. Instead, as always, she preferred to close her eyes and escape.
Corruption After Corruption
Let us not forget: Metsola was presiding over Parliament at the time of the Qatar and Morocco corruption scandal. She promised change, but instead left loopholes in place to allow herself to avoid declaring gifts she received. Worse still, she appointed a relative to her office.
Not long after, the Huawei corruption scandal broke. Once again Metsola was called to act, and once again she failed. Responsibility was too heavy a word for her vocabulary.
