Belle De Jong: Selling Out Malta’s Future to the Culture of Death

Belle De Jong has once again emerged as the face of the culture of death in Malta. Standing in front of the European Commission, she dared to celebrate the collection of one million signatures in favour of abortion — a so-called “historic milestone” that, in reality, represents a tragedy for Europe and for humanity.

According to her, this moment is about “women who make history.” But what kind of history is Belle talking about? History is made when we defend life, not when we promote the killing of the most innocent and voiceless members of our society — unborn children. To label abortion as “progress” is the greatest lie of our generation.

De Jong even paraded the number of Maltese signatures — 4,278 — as if this somehow proves that Malta has suddenly shifted from a culture of life to one of destruction. This is nothing but a gross misrepresentation. The overwhelming majority of Maltese people still believe that every child has the right to life, and no signature campaign orchestrated from Brussels will ever erase our nation’s values.

Belle De Jong is not “celebrating” women. She is celebrating abortion. She is celebrating the destruction of families. She is celebrating a future where convenience trumps conscience, and where the vulnerable are discarded like trash.

The irony is staggering: she speaks of “work still to be done.” Indeed, her “work” means stripping away legal protections from the unborn, dismantling Malta’s proud legacy as the last EU country that still fully defends life, and turning abortion into a commodity.

Malta should not allow itself to be bullied by activists like Belle De Jong. This country’s laws are rooted in the defence of life, not in the fashionable agendas of European lobbies. No activist, however loud or celebrated in Brussels, will dictate to us when life begins or whether a baby deserves to live.

Let Belle De Jong celebrate all she wants. History will not remember her for building a culture of compassion, but for trying to dismantle one of the most basic human rights of all — the right to life.
