Spies Like Us

The month of September 2025 will be remembered for Adrian Delia as one of the most disastrous months in his already tragic political career.

After miserably losing the race for the post of Head of the Nationalist Party, Delia was dealt another humiliation when Alex Borg chose Dr. Stephen Spiteri as Opposition Spokesperson for Health — precisely in place of Delia himself.

Everyone knows that Adrian Delia can never accept defeat gracefully. For him, every political blow is a personal vendetta, and his bitterness has become his trademark. This site had long warned that it would be naïve — if not downright foolish — for Alex Borg to believe that Delia would simply bow his head and obey the “new order” inside the PN.

And now, the prophecy is fulfilling itself.

Just hours ago, Cynthia Galea, Delia’s partner, proudly announced her candidacy for the Nationalist Party Executive. How convenient. Political observers have described this move as Delia’s way of keeping one ear and one firm voice inside the party’s decision-making structure — the perfect setup for an insider spy operation.

“Spies Like Us,” as the saying goes.

One acts from the outside, pretending to smile for the cameras and speak of “unity.” The other operates from within, ensuring that Delia’s shadow continues to haunt every PN strategy meeting, every internal vote, and every whispered rumour of rebellion.

If Alex Borg truly believes he can reform the Nationalist Party while Delia still pulls the strings through his inner circle, he’s in for a rude awakening.

In the meantime, we, the Labour movement, have every reason to keep thanking Adrian Delia — the man who has managed to split, sabotage, and shrink the PN from the inside, one ego trip at a time.

So, to quote the movie title perfectly suited for this saga: Spies Like Us.
