Germany, once the engine of Europe, is now blowing up its own energy plants while pretending to teach others about “sustainability.” The country that built the continent’s industrial might is dismantling it brick by brick — and calling it virtue.
Germany, the self-proclaimed moral compass of Europe, just dynamited its own brain.
At Gundremmingen, a nuclear plant that once powered a quarter of Bavaria, the cooling towers were blown to dust. The same plant that could have been reactivated within four years was instead destroyed for the sake of ideology. Germany didn’t just shut down its reactors — it detonated them on live television.
This was not progress. It was a national suicide ritual disguised as environmental virtue.
RWE, the former operator, promises to fill the crater with a 400-megawatt battery, a few solar panels, and maybe a gas plant. A pathetic downgrade for a site that once generated 20 terawatt-hours of clean, stable energy. Nothing they build there will ever come close.
Meanwhile, Germany — once Europe’s industrial heart — is now stumbling into economic darkness. Energy prices have skyrocketed, industries are fleeing, and the country’s green fantasy is collapsing under its own hypocrisy. Berlin’s economic ministry is now begging Brussels for permission to burn more natural gas — yes, the same gas they once condemned.
You can’t make this up.
The country that preaches “sustainability” to everyone else is deindustrialising itself at record speed. Cities are voting to kill their own industries within fifteen years. One in five municipal utilities plans to dismantle its natural gas networks by 2045 — as if reality were optional.

Ironically, on October 24, German Economy Minister Katherina Reiche arrived in Kyiv, proudly highlighting Berlin’s efforts to help Ukraine repair its energy infrastructure after recent Russian attacks severely damaged the power grid. What a clown.
The truth is that Germany’s so-called “activists” and “ecological thinkers” have become a cult of decline. They are not interested in energy security, or jobs, or prosperity. They crave sacrifice. They want to suffer — and to drag the rest of Europe down with them.
The moral arrogance of Berlin has now turned into pure self-destruction. The same Germany that once built, produced, and innovated now detonates its infrastructure for applause from Greta’s disciples.
This is not a green revolution — it’s a grey decay.
Germany, the country that once lit up Europe, is switching off its own lights. And the worst part? They think it makes them virtuous.
