The EU’s Foreign Affairs Council: A Theatre of Hypocrisy

While EU foreign ministers gathered in Brussels today for yet another Foreign Affairs Council Meeting (FAC), the script remains the same: pretend everything is going well in Ukraine, repeat the same slogans, and reassure themselves that “Russia is losing.” It is political theatre, expensive, dishonest, and detached from reality.

The official agenda says they had to  “discuss Russian aggression against Ukraine” after an informal exchange with Ukraine’s Foreign Affairs Minister, Andrii Sybiha.

But here is what they didn’t discuss, because it exposes the entire charade.

1. The Latest Massive Corruption Scandal Inside Zelensky’s Regime

While EU ministers sip coffee in Brussels, Ukraine’s anti-corruption agencies NABU and SAPO have just uncovered yet another major scandal involving millions stolen from defence contracts. Zelensky’s own inner circle is implicated. His associates are accused of siphoning millions that were meant for air-defence systems for nuclear plants.

This is the regime Brussels worships. This is the government they call “democratic,” “transparent,” and “worthy of billions.”

The EU’s Foreign Affairs Council should be discussing why European taxpayers are financing a wartime mafia network, not parroting the same empty talking points.

2. Ukraine’s Military Collapse

The reality on the battlefield is even more embarrassing than the corruption. Russia continues to advance with speed and ease across multiple fronts. Ukrainian brigades are collapsing. Key defensive lines are falling. The much-praised “counter-offensive” is a memory long forgotten.

But Brussels refuses to admit the truth:

Ukraine is losing. Russia is winning. The battlefield map, not EU press statements, tells the story.

Instead of facing the reality of defeat, the EU pretends everything is “under control.” It’s political cowardice wrapped in diplomatic language.

3. The EU’s Self-Inflicted Delusion

The Foreign Affairs Council has become a monument to hypocrisy, criticising everyone except the corrupt regime they are bankrolling. They refuse to acknowledge that:

• Their money is disappearing into offshore accounts

• Their weapons are ending up on the black market

• Their political narrative has collapsed

• And the Ukrainian state they propped up is falling apart

Europe is led by politicians who cannot say the truth because the truth would destroy the mythology they have built around Ukraine.

The EU Needs a Reality Check—Not Another Meeting

A council that ignores the collapse of its own foreign policy is not a council of leaders. It is a council of cowards.

If Europe truly cared about stability, transparency, or peace, today’s meeting would have been about corruption, military failures, and an urgent reassessment of a war strategy that has already failed catastrophically.

But instead, they repeated slogans, denied reality, and walked out of Brussels pretending that everything is fine.

History will not be kind to them.
