The EU Flag: A Symbol of Cultural Surrender

A Flag That Replaced Tradition With Poison

Yesterday marked the 70th anniversary of the European Flag. It’s a moment Brussels wanted us to celebrate and a moment they hoped would fill us with pride.

Myself, I felt nothing, because i have zero respect for this flag.

In my life i was thought to respect every national flag in the world, especially my own, the Maltese flag, which stands above every other symbol. National flags represent identity, sacrifice, blood, history, culture, and nationhood.

The European flag represents none of this. It has no soul, no people, no heritage. Just bureaucracy pretending to be civilisation.

The Original Idea Has Been Betrayed

When the flag was first adopted in 1955 by the Council of Europe, it symbolised something noble:

unity, stability, cooperation, and harmony among European nations.

It was never meant to replace nations, erase cultures or to dictate morality. The intention was simple: peace, dialogue, and mutual respect.

But the European Union hijacked that symbol and twisted its meaning beyond recognition. The EU took a flag meant for cooperation and turned it into a banner for ideological domination.

Today the EU Flag Represents a Liberal Machine, Not a Civilisation

This flag no longer represents Europe. It represents an ultra-liberal empire that despises everything Europe once stood for.

Under this flag, Brussels pushes:

• the destruction of national cultures

• the erasure of traditional family values

• the dilution of Christian identity

• the rewriting of gender, biology, and truth

• the rise of extreme liberal ideologies

• the silencing of nations who defend their traditions

This is cultural suffocation dressed as “progress.” The EU today replaces heritage with ideology, faith with technocracy, community with individualism, and identity with artificial constructs.

That is why I have no respect for this flag, as it’s no longer a symbol of Europe. It is a symbol of European decay.

A Flag That No Longer Represents Us

The Maltese flag represents centuries of resilience, battles fought, values preserved, and a nation’s right to define its own destiny.

The EU flag represents none of that.

It represents a political structure that imposes laws we never asked for, values we never voted for, and ideologies we never believed in.

It represents a dangerous elite that speaks down to its own people while dismantling the social and cultural pillars that held Europe together for generations.

It represents the destruction of:

• family

• tradition

• religion

• identity

• sovereignty

This is why I cannot respect the European flag, because it no longer respects us.

Europe Deserves Better Than This

Europe’s true heritage is not found in blue flags with golden stars.

It is found in:

• our families

• our places of worship

• our communities

• our nations

• our history

• our faith

• our values

The EU may celebrate 70 years of its flag, but it is celebrating the slow death of the very Europe that flag was meant to unite. Respect must be earned, and today, this flag represents betrayal, not unity; ideology, not identity.

Until Europe returns to its roots, its culture, and its families, I will continue to show zero respect toward a flag that has abandoned everything it once stood for.
