A few weeks ago, Matthew Caruana Galizia arrogantly boasted about writing to the European Commission, lamenting delays in Malta’s judicial process. But reality, as always, tells a different story.

Matthew Caruana Galizia
Let’s talk about the very case that defines Matthew’s crusade: the murder of his mother, Daphne Caruana Galizia. Contrary to his insinuations, justice in this case has moved at an unprecedented pace.
In a decisive development, Robert Agius and Jamie Vella were found guilty on Thursday of supplying the explosive device used in Daphne’s 2017 assassination. This follows the conviction of Vincent Muscat and brothers Alfred and George Degiorgio, who together received over 100 years in prison. One final individual remains awaiting trial — a matter now before the courts.
This is not the mark of a sluggish system. This is justice in motion.
So now the question turns to Matthew: will he find the humility to inform the European Commission that justice is, in fact, being served?
Or will he continue spinning narratives that serve only his brand of self-righteous indignation?
The tactics of distortion have failed — and will continue to fail — because facts have a way of prevailing. And the fact is this: Malta’s institutions have acted, courts have ruled, and justice has been delivered.
