Robert Aquilina loves to parade himself as Malta’s champion of the rule of law. But behind this carefully constructed mask lies a man accused of the most cowardly acts imaginable.
Domestic violence. Illegal arrest of his own wife.
These are not allegations of political corruption or simple misconduct. These are allegations of violent abuse and criminal intimidation against the very person he vowed to protect.
And let us be clear: no amount of speeches, vigils, or legal jargon can erase these accusations. Because while Aquilina and his clique continue preaching about integrity and justice, he was accused of crimes that no moral person could ever justify.
If Aquilina thinks this site has somehow forgotten about his cowardly acts because the Nationalist Party leadership election is dominating headlines, he is gravely mistaken.
Domestic violence is not just a “private matter”. It is a brutal betrayal of the most basic human decency. And illegal arrest of one’s wife is an abuse of power and intimidation that has no place in any civilised society.
Robert Aquilina is a coward. No champion of rule of law beats his wife or illegally arrests her. These are criminal acts that must never be forgiven or forgotten.
Let him continue playing hero in his public crusades. The reality is far darker – and no political distraction will cleanse him of his cowardice.
