Adrian Delia has once again graced us with his cheap talk – this time in an opinion article on The Times of Malta. Words dripping with poetic idealism about Malta’s future, society, and visionary leadership.
But let’s be honest: coming from Adrian Delia, these are nothing but hollow phrases. A man whose tenure as Nationalist Party leader was marked by internal collapse, endless scandals, and public humiliation has no moral authority to lecture anyone about leadership, unity, or vision.
This is the same Adrian Delia who left the PN in tatters, with the party trailing further behind Labour than ever in its history. The same Adrian Delia who presided over a party that was torn apart by factional wars, strategic disasters, and the complete destruction of its credibility as an alternative government.
And yet here he is again, writing about Malta being at a “transformative juncture,” urging leaders to prioritise integrity, vision, and courage. Does he even read his own words and realise the irony?
He speaks of embracing change, of fostering unity within diversity, of cultivating leadership rooted in courage and integrity. But every single survey continues to show the reality: Adrian Delia is unelectable.
The Maltese public has not forgotten his catastrophic leadership. Delegates have not forgotten the chaos he unleashed. No amount of flowery rhetoric about technology, education, and sustainability will erase his record of failure.
This is not visionary discourse. This is a desperate man trying to rewrite history with pretty words, hoping that people are foolish enough to forget what he really brought to the table: division, weakness, and political oblivion for the PN.
Malta does need courageous leadership. Malta does need a unified vision. But one thing Malta does not need is another chapter of Adrian Delia’s failed, self-serving leadership.
Vote Delia, and fade to black.
