Never a dull moment in the Nationalist Party. especially when Alex Borg opens his mouth.
The latest outburst from the PN leadership contender came in the form of a laughable accusation against ONE News, claiming that the Labour Party’s media “wants to cause division in the PN.” According to Borg, ONE has its own agenda and doesn’t operate in the Nationalist Party’s interests.
Well, thank you for the obvious, Alex. But here’s what Borg conveniently failed to mention: it was Adrian Delia’s own campaign that invited a journalist from ONE News. That’s right — not Labour, not ONE, but Delia’s camp took the initiative, knowing full well that the PN’s media is no longer trusted even by its own members.
This isn’t just an oversight. It’s a blatant, calculated lie from a candidate trying to score cheap points while hoping no one notices the truth.
Let’s lay out the facts once again, straight from the PN’s Electoral Commission:
. No debates between candidates
- No journalists from Labour-aligned media
- No appearances on ONE TV
- No unsanctioned interviews
- Every media engagement must be pre-approved
So what exactly is Alex Borg complaining about? These are his rules too. These are the rules he’s chosen to abide by without protest. Instead of speaking out against censorship, he’s parroting the party line, blaming others for the chaos his own leadership bid is part of.
This is the latest in a long list of episodes that prove one thing:
Alex Borg is woefully inexperienced, dangerously naive, and willing to twist the truth whenever it suits his flimsy narrative.
He talks about unity while feeding division.
He talks about truth while distorting facts.
And worst of all, he pretends to be the fresh face of the PN while kneeling to the same elite clique that has driven the party into irrelevance.
Alex Borg is showing us what he really is: a political puppet, happy to be held hostage by a censorial machine run by an Establishment that fears its own members more than its enemies.
This isn’t leadership. This is performance politics at its worst — from a candidate who doesn’t even know how to spin without tripping over his own contradictions.
And if this is the future of the Nationalist Party, then truly, the farce will never end.
