Adrian Delia Dodges Serious Questions on Health Sector Conflict of Interest

The PN’s health spokesperson has gone silent on serious allegations — and every day without an answer makes the conflict of interest look more real.

A week has passed — and still, no answers from the PN’s Shadow Minister for Health. What is Adrian Delia hiding?

It’s been over a week since this site published a set of serious questions directed at Adrian Delia — questions that strike at the heart of transparency, political integrity, and the public’s trust in our democracy.

We asked the questions. The public deserves the answers. But Delia? He’s gone mute.

Let’s not forget: Adrian Delia is not just any MP. He is the Nationalist Party’s spokesperson on health, a critical sector that affects every single Maltese and Gozitan family. Yet when confronted with claims that raise the spectre of a major conflict of interest, he chooses silence.

The Questions Still Stand

For those who missed it, here’s what we asked:

  • Have you declared your conflicts of interest to the PN Leader or Executive?

  • Are you currently receiving a retainer from two pharmaceutical companies?

  • Did you disclose these business ties before accepting the health portfolio?

  • Do you understand that this situation, if true, undermines your credibility and raises serious ethical concerns?

Delia’s refusal to reply only deepens suspicion. We’re not talking about gossip or political games — we’re talking about whether the person supposedly defending our health system is actually defending the profits of his private clients.

Who Does Adrian Delia Really Represent?

When Delia recently stated that Malta needs a new public hospital, the political class took notice. But many within his own party weren’t clapping. Some were whispering — and they were whispering to us.

Sources within the Nationalist camp have openly questioned who stands to benefit from this proposal. Is Delia genuinely advocating for better care? Or is he laying the groundwork for private gain?

These aren’t wild accusations — they’re legitimate questions that must be answered, particularly if the rumours of pharmaceutical retainers are true. The Maltese people are not stupid. They know how politics works. They’ve seen it before. What they won’t tolerate is a Shadow Health Minister being secretly bankrolled by the very industry he’s supposed to regulate and critique.

A Shadow Minister Cannot Have Shadow Deals

If Adrian Delia has nothing to hide, then why the silence? He’s been known to follow this site. He has commented privately on our content before. He reads. He knows. And yet — not a word.

That kind of arrogance only reinforces the worst fears: that there is, indeed, something to hide.

The health sector in Malta is already burdened with complex challenges. We do not need a spokesperson whose loyalty may be split between the public good and private profit. We need people in Parliament who work for patients and their families, not for corporate clients and lobbyists.

Speak Now, or Step Aside

The time for evasion is over. Adrian Delia must answer, in public, clearly and unambiguously. Until he does, every time he opens his mouth about the health sector, his words will be drenched in doubt.

We repeat: Who are you working for, Mr. Delia — the people, or the pharma companies?

Because if you’re using your role to serve those paying your private bills, then you’re not fit to serve in Parliament. That would be nothing short of betrayal.
