The Defnists’ fortress has fallen, and with it, the power of the PN’s most dangerous extremists.
Now that the Great Siege Monument has been reclaimed by the people, it is time to strip away the false piety and expose what this monument really meant to the elitists of the Nationalist Party — and why they fought so hard to keep it in their grip.
In 2017, a pack of PN extremists hijacked the Great Siege Monument and transformed it into a shrine for Daphne Caruana Galizia — the so-called “Queen of Hate.” These were the same hardliners who had just led the PN to one of its worst electoral defeats. But they saw in Caruana Galizia’s murder a golden political opportunity: a ready-made cause they could exploit to claw back the influence they had lost.
A Hijacking, Backed by the PN Establishment
Once they seized the monument, the clique’s influence snowballed. They quickly grew more powerful than the PN itself — a parasite feeding off its host. And why wouldn’t they? They had the blessing and protection of the PN Establishment, who saw in them a perfect weapon to maintain control over key institutions, from the justice system to the media.
With Establishment backing, they took the battle to court, seeking absolute ownership of the monument. And they got it — courtesy of a disgraceful ruling by puppet judge Joe Zammit McKeon. That ruling was nothing short of a recipe for anarchy, an insult to the nation, and a textbook example of how the Establishment bends “justice” to its will.
Labour’s Mistake — and the Price We Paid
The great mistake came when the Labour Government, in a rare moment of hesitation, bowed its head and chose not to appeal this national insult. That failure allowed the elitist clique to wrap itself in the monument’s symbolism and weaponise it against the country, turning Malta into a playground for their self-styled “resistance” — a Banana Republic where a court ruling can elevate a political cult above the will of the people.
The result was dismay, shame, and disgust for every patriot who values Malta’s heritage over partisan vandalism.
The Monument’s Return — and the Fall of the Clique
But today, the tide has turned. The Great Siege Monument is no longer under the iron fist of the Defnists’ extremist clique. It has been returned to the people. And with that loss, the fascist current that once pulsed through their veins has been dealt a mortal wound.
Make no mistake — their strength came entirely from their occupation of the monument. It was their fortress, their propaganda stage, their badge of authority. Stripped of it, they are nothing more than a bitter rump.
The Final Blow is Coming
August 2025 will be remembered as the month the elitist clique hit its knees. The fatal blow will come in a few short months, when the Labour Party is handed a strong, renewed mandate in the general election. When that happens, the extremists and their Establishment backers will learn that Malta belongs to its people — not to a self-appointed cabal hiding behind a stolen national monument.

It was high time that the cabal backs down. Unless they intend to make a comeback! We will see…
And a massive defeat at the polls generally emboldens the extremists on the other side, so i would not sigh “phew, finally!”
I believe that a massive thrashing at the polls will see the worst of them emerge. Not unlike the beheading dragon that grows another 10 heads to replace the severed one.
A government under the PL and the extremists act as they own the place.
Viva l-Bobby!
