Aquilina the Coward: Beating Women, Attacking Institutions

Robert Aquilina is raising his head again. A few weeks ago, this same coward was dragged before Court accused of domestic violence and the illegal arrest of his own wife – charges that carry a prison sentence. The only reason he walked away without consequences is because his saintly wife chose to protect him, requesting that the criminal proceedings be halted. Out of loyalty, compassion, or sheer fear, she saved him.

But now that the dust has settled, the same wife-beater has once again erupted with his hysterical tirades against the institutions and against representatives of the Labour Government.

Among his latest venomous rants, this coward – who has no shame in beating a woman – had the audacity to sneer that anyone who supports Joseph Muscat cannot be sincere in their criticism. The irony is grotesque: a man guilty of raising his hand against his own wife dares lecture the Maltese public about sincerity, justice, and morality.

Robert Aquilina

Robert Aquilina would do better to lock himself in a room and spare the nation his hypocrisy. Before opening his mouth against others, he should remember the horror he inflicted on his wife and the shame that still hangs over his head. And let him not forget – there are other details about his case that have not yet come to light.

A man who beats a woman is not a man. He is a coward. And Robert Aquilina will forever carry that label, no matter how many fiery speeches he delivers from his soapbox.

This site again appeals to the Domestic Violence Unit within the Police to continue monitoring Ms. Aquilina closely, especially in light of the risk assessment report that described her as “high risk.” Her safety must remain the top priority – because the greatest threat to her has always been under her own roof.

Robert Aquilina can keep trying to reinvent himself as some champion of justice, but the Maltese people are not blind. His hands are stained with violence, and no amount of rhetoric can ever wash that away.
