In the context of the Għargħur Local Council facing legal proceedings and following legal advice, the Council voted by majority to pay the organizers for the service provided, subject to verification of outstanding payments. As the activity was carried out without authorization and without allocated funds, as recorded in the Council minutes, the Mayor sought the intervention of the Minister responsible for Local Government.
The payment will be effected because the organizers should not bear the consequences of third-party failures and to avoid further legal action that could seriously impact the Council’s liquidity. It will be made through an allocation loan from the same Ministry, which the Council must subsequently reimburse from public funds.

Meanwhile, discussions are ongoing on the possibility of those responsible for not following procedures reaching an agreement to repay the Council. In the absence of such an agreement, the Council will proceed with legal action against those responsible to recover the funds.
Through serious and prudent management, the organizers can now be paid for the service rendered to the Council, while the Council’s integrity is safeguarded.
