Government has published the ICC Arbitration Tribunal sentence on the Hospitals’ Concession. Everyone can now see the truth.
The ICC Tribunal in London made it clear: it did not find any fraud. This puts an end to the Opposition’s ongoing distortion of facts.
Adrian Delia and his political allies have irresponsibly claimed that the Government “protected fraud” or “covered up wrongdoing.”
The international Tribunal’s decision categorically disproves these politically motivated assertions.
Moreover the ICC also confirmed that the payments made to Steward were strictly for healthcare service provision, and not for capital investment or hospital redevelopment, which never took place.
Hence Government did not pay higher charges for a new hospital, as such payments would only have become applicable once construction had been completed — which never occurred.
No money was lost or stolen as claimed by the Opposition. To the contrary value for
Services was ensured.
The Steward arbitration is now over. There is no appeal. The Labour Government has once again demonstrated that it defends Malta’s interests.
What remains is a sobering contrast: while the Government was fighting internationally to protect Maltese taxpayers, Adrian Delia and the Opposition were spinning mistruths at home. The facts, the law, and the international verdict now expose that hypocrisy for what it is.
