Saviour Balzan’s War on Labour – Sponsored by Labour Itself

Saviour Balzan attacks Labour because Labour keeps paying him to do it.

Every Sunday, Balzan launches another grenade at Labour legends, Labour history, and Labour’s core values. Meanwhile every week, the same Labour who pretend to be “shocked” and “offended” are the ones quietly keeping him on the public payroll with consultancies, programmes, and taxpayer-funded airtime.

Balzan’s hypocrisy is predictable. The Government enabling him is not.

Saviour Balzan is doing what Saviour Balzan has always done; political freelancing dressed up as journalism. He only survives because Labour keeps him alive. Balzan has built a career on insulting the very people he depends on.

He bites the hand and then waits for the same hand to feed him again. But unbelievable, week after week, it works.

Why? Because Labour has allowed it.

While Balzan trashes Dom Mintoff, trashes Labour history, and trashes Labour figures, parts of the same Government continue to keep his platform wide open. PBS contracts. Consultancy fees. Prime-time slots. The man who spits on Labour every Sunday is funded by Labour every Monday.

This is not a media problem. It’s a political self-harm problem. Balzan cannot destroy Labour, but Labour can destroy itself by financing its own enemies.

There is nothing courageous about condemning Balzan on Facebook while still signing his contracts behind closed doors. There is nothing principled about calling out his “hate speech” while keeping him on national television.

You cannot fight a viper while feeding it. Saviour Balzan has made his choice; attacking Labour keeps him relevant.

Now Labour must explain their choices.

The question is no longer “Why is Balzan attacking Labour?”

We already know why. It is his business model.

The real question is:

Why is Labour still paying for it?

Until that answer changes, Saviour Balzan’s war on Labour will continue powered, funded, and legitimised by Labour itself.
