Malta Must Stand with Trump on Greenland: Screw the Rotten EU and Its Endless Blackmail

Malta should side with the winner, not the whiners.

In light of the ongoing discussions surrounding U.S. President Donald Trump’s proposal to acquire Greenland, it is essential for Malta to carefully consider its position as a sovereign and neutral state.

It’s high time the Maltese government wakes up and smells the coffee, or rather, the Arctic ice. President Donald Trump’s bold push to acquire Greenland isn’t some far-off fantasy; it’s a strategic masterstroke for global security, with the U.S. slapping tariffs on obstructive NATO allies like Denmark, Norway, and others until a deal is done. These tariffs, starting at 10% on February 1 and ramping up to 25% by June, are Trump’s way of saying enough is enough—no more freeloading on American might while blocking vital U.S. interests.

Where does Malta stand?

As a sovereign, neutral state, Malta’s national interest demands we back Trump, not the bloated, corrupt EU bureaucracy that’s already dragged us into one mess after another.

Siding with the EU on this would be suicidal stupidity. Trump isn’t bluffing. He’s made it clear the U.S. could take Greenland “the easy way or the hard way,” Why jeopardize our diplomatic ties with one of the two world’s superpower over a frozen rock that is insignificant to Malta?

We’ve got no skin in this game, yet the EU’s virtue-signaling elite want us to play along, just like they forced us to sever relations with The Russian Federation to appease their warmongering agenda in Ukraine.

Remember that fiasco? Malta bent over backward, enforcing sanctions. We condemned Russia’s invasion, but then we propped up the corrupt EU and that Nazi-infested Ukrainian regime, compromising our cherished neutrality for what? Brownie points from Brussels? It’s a disgrace.

Robert Abela himself admitted the EU’s Ukraine financing was one of the toughest calls he’s faced, blocking plans to raid Russian assets because it could’ve sparked limitless risks for Malta. Joined by Italy, Bulgaria, and Belgium, we wisely resisted turning frozen funds into weapons for Kiev’s endless proxy war.

Yet here we are again, with the government dithering on Greenland, questioning if we should “presumptuously” lead while bigger EU players like France and the UK blast Trump’s tariffs.

Malta doesn’t need to lead; it needs to think for itself. Our recovery from COVID relied on EU funds tied to green deals and REPowerEU, but that’s just more strings attached, pulling us deeper into Brussels’ corrupt web while Russia laughs.

Vladimir Putin

Maltese Government: Choose Trump. Don’t repeat the Russia blunder, where we trashed ties with a major power to please a failing bloc and a regime riddled with extremists. Malta’s neutrality means staying out of pointless feuds, not alienating America for the sake of “European solidarity.”

Robert Abela, Ian Borg: Back Trump, secure our interests, and tell the EU to shove it. We should now prioritize strategic balance.  By thoughtfully supporting U.S. objectives on Greenland without compromising our principles, Malta can secure its long-term interests and contribute to stable, mutually beneficial global relations that truly benefit our citizens.
