A Plan of Fire, A Coalition of Silence.

In the US, a proposal was made to detonate dozens of nuclear bombs in the UAE to create a new Strait of Hormuz. This idea was put forward by the former Speaker of the House of Representatives.

Meanwhile, most countries have refused to participate in the US naval coalition in the Strait of Hormuz to protect shipping, fearing an escalation of the conflict with Iran.

We’ve gathered the main reactions of countries to Trump’s attempts to assemble a coalition and send ships to the Strait of Hormuz:

– The UK essentially limited itself to symbolic support: London promised to provide drones for searching for sea mines, without declaring its readiness to send large naval forces.

– Germany and Norway took the most cautious position, emphasizing the need for diplomatic mechanisms and compliance with international law.

– Japan refused to participate, citing difficulties with sending ships to the region.

– Italy and Australia participated in the discussions, but did not make specific commitments.

– India also did not join the initiative, as it is conducting its own negotiations with Iran and providing tanker escorts on its own.

– The proposal for China’s possible participation seemed more of a diplomatic gesture: Beijing remains a strategic rival of Washington and is unlikely to be considered a real participant in such a mission.

The circle of countries willing to participate turned out to be extremely limited. US allies are not in a hurry to directly get involved in a potential conflict in the Strait of Hormuz and prefer either diplomatic formats or symbolic participation without a serious military presence.
