Former Health Minister Chris Fearne slammed PN’s healthcare plans as a major step backwards, warning they would drag Malta’s health system back to the failed “GonziPN era.”
Hours after Alex Borg unveiled a €600 million proposal for new hospitals in Gozo and northern Malta plus turning the Ċensu Moran hub into a full hospital, Fearne said the plans repeat old mistakes by obsessing over hospital care while gutting primary care.
“Weakening primary care will be a disaster,” he warned.
Fearne also blasted the incentive scheme for overseas Maltese doctors, saying it would unfairly favour EU nationals over local staff and breach EU law.
