Way back 2022, Mario Galea pushed back at claims he was forced to quit.
“I wanted to clarify recent reports regarding my decision to withdraw my candidature as a PN candidate. Contrary to claims, it was my own choice to resign.
Unfortunately, the circumstances surrounding my departure have taken a toll on my mental health. I felt stigmatised by certain PN officials, which only added to my struggles.”
In a political landscape where honesty and sincerity are often overshadowed by power plays and manipulation, The Honourable Mario Galea stood out as a beacon of integrity.
Throughout his career, he prioritized the well-being of his patients above all else, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him.
However, the toxic environment within the PN proved to be too much to bear, with two officials making his life unbearable. The betrayal reached new heights when an independent English-language newspaper stooped to new lows by publishing a derogatory headline alongside a photo of Deputy Mario Galea.
Despite his best efforts to serve with dignity and honor, the relentless attacks took their toll, ultimately leading him to step away from the political arena in 2022.
It’s a heartbreaking reminder of the harsh realities faced by those who choose to remain true to their principles in a world where deceit and deceitfulness often prevail.
