A conspicuous silence

A conspicuous silence

Days passed since the announcement regarding Peter Agius’s fine by the OHSA for irregularities. It appears that the Labor Party has chosen to maintain a conspicuous silence, as if nothing significant has transpired.

This lack of response stands in stark contrast to the fervent outcry we would expect if the roles were reversed, with figures like Manwel Delia, Kevin Cassar, and David Casa actively demanding accountability and transparency.

The absence of protests or inquiries from the Labor side raises questions about their commitment to ethical governance. It is crucial to remember that just a week before the European Parliament elections, officials in the Prime Minister’s Office were made aware of these irregularities, yet the response from Castile has been one of opacity, effectively shrouding the matter in mystery.

This situation not only undermines public trust but also highlights the complicity that may have contributed to the Labor Party’s loss of the Fourth Seat, which was ironically won by Peter Agius.

It is imperative for the public to be informed about these facts, as transparency is essential for a functioning democracy.
