The European Union (EU) recently voted to impose tariffs of up to 45 percent on imports of battery electric vehicles (EVs) from China, sparking significant opposition from various EU member states and the automotive industry.
In response, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade firmly expressed its opposition, emphasizing the importance of dialogue to reach a mutually beneficial solution.
The Ministry of Commerce in China also denounced the EU’s decision as unfair, non-compliant, and unreasonable, while acknowledging the EU’s willingness to continue negotiations.
Technical teams from both sides are set to resume talks on October 7 to address this issue and work towards a resolution that aligns with the interests of both parties.
