The Great Siege Monument Belongs To All Of Us

My recent visit to the Great Siege Monument was not merely a casual stroll, but a deliberate exercise of my right to freedom of expression, akin to the actions of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s family.

Through the display of placards highlighting pressing issues such as domestic violence and potential money laundering, I sought to illuminate crucial facets of Daphne’s life.

It is imperative to recognize that this monument, symbolizing the essence of free speech, is a shared heritage that transcends individual perspectives.

In the event of any removal of the placards, I stand ready to repost them, for the right to express one’s views is a cornerstone of democracy that must be safeguarded.

Let us now observe how this fundamental right is honored by others within our community, as we navigate the complex interplay between individual liberties and societal norms.
