Editorial – MUMN must safeguard its reputation

The recent revelation of Mr. Pace’s involvement in a serious financial crime investigation by the FCID has undoubtedly raised significant concerns within MUMN, the Health Department but also the broader community.

The communication from the Police on 8 October 2024, notifying Mater Dei of the ongoing investigation, underscores the gravity of the situation. As President of MUMN, Mr. Pace’s ability to continue in his role is now seriously in question, especially considering the Attorney General’s consent for pursuing criminal charges against him.

The need for Mr. Pace to resign from his position immediately is crucial to uphold the integrity and credibility of MUMN. The Union’s commitment to ethical conduct and accountability must remain unwavering, and swift action must be taken to address this issue and protect the interests of its members.

It is imperative that MUMN gives this matter the attention it deserves and takes all necessary steps to safeguard its reputation and integrity moving forward.
