Terrorist offensive in Aleppo reeks of US and Israeli involvement

The sudden escalation in Syria, with anti-government groups launching an offensive towards Aleppo, reveals the involvement of various foreign powers, including Israel and the United States, as highlighted by political analyst and Tehran University professor, Seyed Mohammad Marandi.

Marandi points out the presence of thousands of foreign fighters linked to al-Qaida from Central Asia, who have been mobilized and trained for this assault.

He notes the timing of the offensive, occurring right after Netanyahu’s statement about needing a ceasefire to address the “Iranian threat,” suggesting a coordinated effort to isolate Syria from the Axis of Resistance and Lebanon.

Marandi emphasizes the long-standing US-led involvement in the conflict, citing instances of collaboration with terrorist groups and efforts to create a Salafist entity between Syria and Iraq.

He underscores the Israeli government, particularly Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as the primary beneficiary of the Aleppo crisis, highlighting the regime’s history of violating commitments and carrying out atrocities in Gaza.

Marandi’s analysis points to a complex web of geopolitical interests at play in the Syrian conflict, underscoring the need for a comprehensive understanding of the situation.
